Skid and drift around an open world environment.

Drift City, also known as Skid Rush, is an online MMO game that allows you to drive around freely throughout the city(s) and take on challenges and races. The graphics are cartoony, but the shading helps to make the game feel more three-dimensional. On the whole, the game has had a lot of good press, with many people unable to pick big flaws with it. Though with that said, it is part of a certain driving niche that some people are simply not going to enjoy because it is not their type of game.

It Has An Open-Ended Story

There is both lots to do and little to do. There are lots of games you can play within the environment, but a lot of them are quite similar. This is not such a terrible thing because they allow you to hone your skills and earn currency at the same time. There are not many car customizations, but there is plenty to do and plenty of ways to waste the currency that you earn.

Drifting Is Fun

The driving experience is not difficult to master and it doesn’t take lots of practice, but as you get better you can experience a fuller and more rewarding driving experience. This means you do not have to practice for hours before you start winning races; it means that once you start practicing, you can start winning with style. In real life it would ruin your tires in minutes, but luckily you cannot get a flat with this game.

Korean Storylines

If you have ever watched a Korean movie, then you will know how different their storylines are from Hollywood movies. What we would call an unexpected twist, they call another day in the park. The storyline for Drift City is worth following. Obviously, you should take a lot of detours to enjoy the side quests, but be aware that the story is worth playing for.

The quests and missions are nicely related to the storyline, and the game plays very smoothly with no lag or performance issues. Gain currency and experience and explore the city. It is a fun game with a lot to offer people that enjoy car games. It may even appeal to the RPG crowd that enjoy gaining experience through repetitive tasks.

Pros

  • The gameplay is easy but fun
  • It has an open world for you to explore
  • The cartoony graphics are different
  • It is an RPG and MMO at the same time
  • The story can be fun

Cons

  • It soon becomes repetitive if you are not playing for a certain reward
  • Some of the wins you have to pay for to achieve
